DAYBREAK FOODS requires the services of a suitably qualified Utilities Foreman to be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of various utility systems critical to the plant's function. Identify engineering challenges and develop improvement plans. Lead artisans to maximize team cohesion. Supervise daily plant engineering/maintenance activities. Ensure budget compliance and evaluate suppliers. Compile cost trends and prepare downtime reports. Handle disciplinary matters. Issue job cards and ensure completion. Manage timesheets and weekend maintenance tasks. Maintain spares availability and evaluate supplier quotes. Recommend equipment replacements and ensure equipment functionality. Possess knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits, PLCs, and mechanical operations. Maintain workshop cleanliness and equipment condition. Oversee employee and apprentice training, ensuring timely completion. Provide guidance, mentoring, and demonstrate succession planning. Maintain a clean working area and implement housekeeping schedules. Enforce safe working procedures and promote workplace and food safety cultures. Act as a safety representative and ensure compliance with PPE requirements. Conduct risk assessments and report any security system issues. Enforce environmental regulations and OSHAct standards. Ensure electrical installations meet standards. Ensure equipment, products, procedures, and processes comply with Quality and food safety standards. Matric / Grade 12/N3 with Math's and Science N6 Trade Test or National Diploma in Engineering Trade Test (Elect/Mach/Refrigeration). 5 years of experience in a processing environment in a similar role, preferably within the FMCG (Poultry) industry. Proficiency in ammonia refrigeration, electrical systems, programmable logic controllers, and mechanical knowledge. Familiarity with ISO Management systems and their implementation. Provide technical leadership in the implementation and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety standards according to Oshact regulations. Interpret and apply ISO standards within the organization. Registered with SARACCA-SAQCC Gas and Ammonia Safe handling Level B certification. Utilize computer skills for documentation and reporting using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Apply Now
