Grade 12 or equivalent with Maths and Physical Science · Chamber of Mines/Mineral Council Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control or, · Elementary Certificate in Mine Environmental Control Practical experience of at least three (3) years' in the Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene field · Five (5) years' experience in underground conventional and trackless hard rock mining environment Procedures, safety and legal requirements · Proficient with Microsoft Package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) · Effective communication skills in English · Drivers license · Medical Certificate of Fitness Ensuring legal requirements, mine standards, procedures and policies are adhered to · Maintaining ventilation and occupational hygiene processes and systems · Conducting risk assessments and participating in audits · Conducting daily ventilation and occupational hygien inspections, record findings and recommend appropriate interventions · Promptly report to the Chief Ventilation Officer and Mine Manager any ventilation and safety related conditions or actions observed posing immediate risk to health and safety of employees in the workplace · Conducting monthly lamp-room inspections · Managing resources and assets and taking charge of the ventilation construction crews · Coaching and mentoring of direct reports · Assisting in short term ventilation and occupational hygiene planning · Contribute to the achievement of the objectives and targets of the Ventilation and Occupational Hygiene Department and those of the business area Apply Now
