Advice on general disease prevention and treatment. The ideal candidate would be responsible for: Advice on general disease prevention and treatment; Development and management of effective vaccination and medication programs; Interpretation of laboratory results for standard serological, molecular, microbiology and parasitology monitoring; Preventative lesion scoring in broilers; Routine and diagnostic post-mortem evaluation of broilers and breeders; Audits on general bird husbandry, bio-security, welfare and housing conditions; Involved in projects to improve chick quality, egg hygiene, fertility and hatchability; Investigations into problem areas within the breeder flocks, hatcheries, broiler flocks and selected meat safety. The successful candidate must meet the following requirements: Relevant tertiary qualification in veterinary science; Veterinary experience in commercial poultry production will be beneficial; Registered with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC).
