Warehouse Manager - Operation - Midrand
NetFlorist, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a talented Warehouse Manager to join our team in Midrand, Johannesburg. The Warehousing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations to ensure efficient and accurate handling of goods. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a focus on optimizing warehouse processes to meet operational objectives. Main Duties & Responsibilities Supervision of Warehouse Staff: · Hire, train, and schedule warehouse personnel. · Provide leadership and direction to warehouse team members. · Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and safety. · Uphold strict levels of discipline amongst warehouse personnel. Warehouse Management: · Optimize layout and storage methods to maximize space utilization and efficiency. · Ensure accurate and timely receipt, storage, and picking of inventory items. · Supply 3 hubs/DCs with sufficient stock via interbranch transfers. · Utilize ERP system knowledge to align physical and systematic stock quantities. · Ensure accurate identification of stock components and labelling of storage locations. · Oversee organization and maintenance of bulk storage and pick face areas consisting of 11000 SKUs. · Oversee stock received by suppliers; including receiving, verifying, and storing goods. Inventory Control: · Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures. · Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records. · Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to inventory, orders, or stock received by suppliers. · Identify discontinued stock and implement wastage control measures Continuous Improvement: · Analyse inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for the improvement of warehouse systems and procedures with a view of operating a lean and effective warehouse. · Implement best practices to improve stock accuracy and productivity, resulting in measurable cost savings. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements: · Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). · Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in warehouse management. · Strong leadership and communication skills and ability to manage staff · Proficiency in inventory management systems and ERP software, (Sage Evolution is preferred). · Ability to analyse data and make data-driven decisions. · Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
