Job Summary At CTU, the Web Designer plays a pivotal role in creating and maintaining an optimal online presence. With a focus on both aesthetics and functionality, they ensure the seamless operation of our websites, emphasizing user experience, content updates, and SEO optimisation. The role also involves overseeing the CRM platform and management of Online Academies developed on LMS platforms. Integral to the position is the responsibility for safeguarding website security and ensuring compliance with GDPR and POPIA best practices, especially concerning cookie management and website content. Collaborating closely with the marketing team and other departments, the Web Designer contributes significantly to the alignment of web updates with overarching marketing campaigns and initiatives. Duties & Responsibilities Ensure consistent uptime and proper functioning of all CTU websites. Periodically check for broken links, errors, and technical glitches, resolving them promptly. Implement security measures, ensuring the protection of the website from threats. Conduct regular backups and monitoring. Ensure consistent uptime and proper functioning of all CTU websites, CRM platforms, and LMS-based Online Academies. Regularly update and manage content on LMS platforms to align with current course offerings, materials, and updates. Understand, implement, and maintain best practices for POPIA and GDPR, especially concerning cookie management, user consent on forms, and overall website content. Ensure all data collection points are compliant with these regulations and that users are informed appropriately. Collaborate with marketing to update the website, ensuring current information on programs, news, events, and other relevant content. Consistently enhance user experience (UX) ensuring intuitive design, clear CTAs, and effortless navigation. Uphold on-page SEO best practices across all sites – meta tags, keyword optimization, URL structures, etc. Work with content creators to ensure content is SEO-friendly and aligns with current keyword strategies. Engage effectively with the marketing team, graphic designers, and content creators, ensuring website updates align with campaigns and brand messaging. Provide a comprehensive web analytics report weekly. This report should detail website metrics and offer actionable insights to improve audience reach and engagement.
