Gibela invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Welding Co-Ordinator position is based at Dunnottar. The position reports to the Special Process Manager. To contribute to the control of the welding and welding related activities during manufacturing (quality of manufactured parts, respect of process sheet and welding parameters, …) of the trains. Check if all the documentation (instruction sheet, WPS, welder's qualifications) used is the most relevant according to the baseline one (reference and edition). Audit/review if the welding processes are correctly followed in areas where welding is taking place. Review if the workers are qualified for the welding work they are performing. Review if the welding parameters used are the qualified ones according the welding to be performed and the WPS to be used. Check if there are no issues during the assembly of the primary parts and the jigs related to the welding process. Catch all the misalignments (process, quality, documentation) and inform the Welding Engineer. Identify quality – productivity – safety – process – jig – EHS - … improvements to do and inform the Welding Engineer. Follow the qualification of welder's test pieces for their qualifications and review the weld quality. Support the Welding Engineer for the welding qualification process. Perform welding inspection on all stage of process of all components and establish the welding inspection, where required assisting IQ, report (he/she has the authority to stop the production if the required quality is not obtained). Support the Welding Engineer to do welding audits on workstations. Support the Welding Engineer to find root causes of none quality and for the definition of the repair process. Support the Welding Engineer and Quality for the repairs and the application of preventives actions. Explain to the workers (welders, inspectors, welding trainer, workshop manager, …) the quality level to obtain the root causes of defects the correctives and preventives actions to improve the quality level Define better and cost-effective standard tooling for manufacturing. Develop equipment's specification where required. Update Industrial Maturity Follow Up (IMFU). Develop innovative solutions and ensure projects are completed on time. Analyse issues observed during manufacturing and create action plans using tools like QRQC. Define consumable materials to be used on manufacturing process and also quantities. B-tech/Degree in Metallurgical/Process/Mechanical Engineering Training, Qualification and Registration by a third party (e.g. IWE, IWT, Inspection qualifications…), equivalent qualifications can also be considered. Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as applicable. If not registered, should be in a position to be registered. 3 to 5 years' experience in a welding industrial method or in welding workshop.
