Perform operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks at the facility to achieve optimum technical performance of the Wind Farm at all times. Ensure the safety and reliability of machinery to optimize plant availability. Mission: Independently perform complex operational tasks in his/her unit/department, in keeping with the instructions provided by his/her supervisor, in order to satisfy the project's needs. They are responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment. They carry out regular checks that the facilities are in good operating conditions; carry out general maintenance work and work on elements for automation of services. Responsibilities: Technical support Ensure efficiency of the wind turbines whilst observing the sites safety, quality and environmental rules and laws. Apply troubleshooting, corrective, predictive and preventative maintenances and inspections whilst attending to every incident that could adversely affect the wind farm's operations. Proactive identification of components that require replacement Perform servicing, troubleshooting and repair of the wind turbine electrical, hydraulic and mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines. Utilize control, instrumentation, telecommunication and electrical engineering concepts regularly during work activities. Support wind turbine technician assistants. Perform preventative maintenances activities on wind turbines. Perform technical retrofits and technological upgrades in the wind turbine according to pre - defined procedures. Supervise specialist and subcontractor activity during main component exchanges or maintenance. Perform wind turbine and substation switching with an authorization of up to 12kV Reporting Capture tasks on the O&M management systems (MAXIMO, RDO, etc) when required. Provide feedback to the rest of the windfarm management team after completion of each work day. Reporting of safety matters, incidents/near misses through the incident management tool. Perform and/ report all material consumptions and low stock levels to the warehouse technician timeously. Tools and Equipment Responsible for tools, material and property of the company including vehicles. Ensure that all tools are in a good working condition and report any defective tools timeously. Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Compliance Ensure compliance with the company's health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations and report any incidents/near misses immediately to superiors. Other Assist with ad hoc requests and projects that may reasonably be expected within the company from time to time to promote the aims of the company Required Skills and Competencies Minimum National Diploma or N6: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Millwright with a trade test 2 years' related working experience - Apprenticeship included, ideally as aTechnician on the AW3000 Wind Turbine Completed GWO training Valid Driver's License (minimum code B) Computer literate (MS Office) Must be able to work at heights of up to 100m and in restricted or confined spaces. PLC's and Drives/ converters experience will be an advantage Self-motivated and enjoy working independently and as a member of a team Working Conditions Must be able to work irregular hours, shifts and be available to work on standby. Must be able to attend to call-outs within a 1 (one) hour period. Physical Requirements Must be physically fit, able to climb a ladder (unaided) to heights of 100m and comfortable to work at heights of up to 100 m.
