The Workshop Manager is responsible for the overall management of all the maintenance plans for all departments within the company and must ensure that the facilities, layout and machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods function maximally efficiently and effectively. Prioritize and allocate work to meet the internal customer and logistics needs of the business. Ensure quality, compliance with safety and security of all assets of the business. Qualifications: Grade 12 academic qualifications or technical qualification and relevant post-school qualification Valid driver's license Sufficient knowledge and experience in the maintenance of a feed processing plant, corn and grain silos, commercial equipment and machinery. Training in Occupational Safety and Health would be beneficial Competencies and Skills: Previous management experience with a good mechanical aptitude Must have a strong electrical background including PLC logic will count in favour of the applicant Good knowledge regarding the following competence areas: The electrical maintenance of electric motors, generators, and compressors Welding and cutting Pickup lifts, drag chains, conveyor belts Grinding mills as well as hammer mills Pill machines and steam boilers Must be able to work in high places, and confined spaces Basic computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel) Good communication, planning and organizing skills as well as the ability to work under pressure Good knowledge about installation, wiring and troubleshooting Planning and execution of maintenance function Effective control of personnel and stock Knowledge of maintenance procedures and Health and Safety standards and legal requirements Personality traits: Integrity, physically healthy, Sober habits, Self-confident, Self-motivated Apply Now
