Investment in employee wellbeing is a key initiative of employers who are focused on employee retention.<\/p>\n<h3><b>The Impact Of The Working Environment<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Respondents\u2019 views were almost equally split about whether, or not, their working environment was having a negative <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joblife.co.za\/blog\/mental-health-and-stigma-in-the-workplace\/\">impact on their health and wellbeing<\/a>, such as stress, lifting heavy equipment, sitting all day, standing all day, etc. However, despite this 60% felt that their health is \u2018Fairly Good\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"604\" height=\"441\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-171617\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joblife.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/survey-results-2.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.joblife.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/survey-results-2.png 604w, https:\/\/www.joblife.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/survey-results-2-300x219.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><b>Responsibility For Employees Wellbeing\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>79% of employees believe that the responsibility for managing employee health and wellbeing should be shared between the Employer and Employee.<\/li>\n<li>Only 7 % felt it was solely the employer\u2019s responsibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"649\" height=\"452\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-171618 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.joblife.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/survey-results.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.joblife.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/survey-results.png 649w, https:\/\/www.joblife.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/survey-results-300x209.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 649px) 100vw, 649px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>What Employees Want From Workplace Wellbeing Programmes\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>25% of employees\u00a0don\u2019t engage in workplace health and wellbeing programmes, mainly because they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joblife.co.za\/blog\/managing-depression-hunt-job\/\">look after their own health without support from work<\/a>, but 15% don\u2019t have the time to engage.<\/li>\n<li>30% would engage more with workplace health and wellbeing programmes if their employer better-communicated programmes on offer.<\/li>\n<li>46% of employees would engage more with workplace health and wellbeing initiatives if their employer asked them what they\u2019d like.<\/li>\n<li>74% agreed that knowing their employer cares about their health and wellbeing would make them more satisfied, loyal and motivated in work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong>\u00a0http:\/\/blog.rezoomo.com\/workplace-wellbeing-trends-2018\/<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Importance of Wellbeing In The Workplace Given the interdependency between the mental health and wellbeing of employees and increased employee engagement, implementing a good wellbeing strategy makes good business sense and will benefit individuals, organisations and society.
