Academic Programme Coordinator - South Africa

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To coordinate and administer the academic programmes of the Business School in order to contribute to the sustainability and growth of the Business School.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Facilitate the academic programme registration process to full execution
  • Coordinate the student and orientation process
  • Manage and coordintate the student groups and attend to student enquiries
  • Coordinate all full-time and part-time lecturers on the academic programmes
  • Ensure that effective communication and relationship building takes place between the coordinator, lecturers and moderators
  • Management and coordination of student evaluation process
  • Coordinate and manage the academic and student administration process
  • Manage and coordinate student groups and attend to student queries
  • Manage and coordinate student evaluation
  • Manage and coordinate all block student activities

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • In-depth understanding of the academic administrative functions within the Higher Education environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of the academic process.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Incoko process.
  • The ability to effectively communicate at a senior level.
  • A solid understanding of the academic registration process.
  • Conflic resolution skills.
  • A solid understanding of the academic coordination process, involving (but not limited to), assignments, tests, examinations and evaluation.

REQUIREMENTS

In order to be considered for appointment to this post, candidates should possess:

a grade 12 certificate with a minimum of three to five years work-related experience within an academic department in Higher Education, in which competency has been gained.

Candidate must have a valid Drivers licence.
