Accountant - Westlake
Opportunity for an experienced and capable accountant at an established property management group in the southern suburbs of Cape Town. The ideal candidate should have either completed SAIPA or SAICA articles, experience in using Pastel and be a strong Excel user. Tax preparation and submission experience will be a strong advantage. Property rental and development experience during articles or thereafter will be an advantage and candidates qualified by strong bookkeeping experience will also be considered. Duties and Responsibilities: Monthly bookkeeping process up to trial balance. Monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries. Compile management accounts. Compile Annual Financial Statements. VAT 201. VAT reconciliations. EMP201. Tax calculations and submissions. E-filing Full tenant billing function. Debtors. Creditors. Cashbooks. Invoicing. Journals. Preparation of month-end payments. Ensure bank statements, payments and transactions are allocated. Ensure that all petty cash expenses are checked and captured. Tenant deposit reconciliations. Tenant account reconciliations. General finance administrative functions. Audit/annual financial file preparations. Qualifications and Experience: BCom (Financial Accounting) or similar qualification. AGA(SA), PA(SA) or similar professional qualification will be advantageous. 3 years’ experience – SAIPA or SAICA completed. Qualified by appropriate experience. 5 years’ experience – candidates qualified by experience. Tax calculation and submission experience. E-filing. VAT calculation, reconciliation and submission. Financial Statement compilation. Pastel. Advanced Excel user. Remuneration: R18k to R25k pm ctc salary.
