Well established promotional company based in Durban is urgently looking for a Mid-level / Senior Accountant situated at the Company’s main / head office in Durban Waterfront PointView to start ASAP / 1st April. Requirements; Minimum 3 year’s experience within similar position as stated below; Bachelor’s degree from a credible university in Accounting and/or Finance course Work experience with a good track record of up to three to five years in an Accounting Department or Audit Firm that required high-performance and adherence to meeting strict targets and deadlines is favored. Financial skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Xero are preferred Responsibilities ; Preparation of accounts Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for operational management. Assist with Commentary and Investigation of Fluctuations monthly. Responsibility for all journals and final GL balances including review of month-end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts. Assist accounting team in the preparation of the financial statements of the given portfolio. Coordination of external audit activities. Budgets and forecasts Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans and continued monitoring and review of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to the Finance Manager Payment Processing Ensure that payments are complete and accurate before processing. Manage the office petty cash; prepare petty cash reconciliation and replenishment requests. Tax Filing and Compliance Ensure the company’s entities are always compliant with all Revenue Authority and Government Bodies’ Regulations by: Timely filing of statutory payments, (i.e. NSSF, NHIF, GEPF, etc.). Timely submission of tax returns (i.e. PAYE, WHT, WVAT, VAT and import duty). Keep the Finance Manager up to date with the status of any Tax issues and correspondence with the Tax Authorities. Bookkeeping Enter all transactions daily into the accounting software to facilitate accurate and reliable reports. Reconcile all ledgers monthly and ensure that month-end closing procedures are followed and properly documented. Ensure 100% compliance with the company’s internal controls. Revenue Accounting Billing of customers. Collection and Follow up of customer debts. Reconciliation of customer accounts and disbursement of customer statements on a monthly basis. Collection of Invoices from Suppliers Reconciliation of Supplier accounts and statement of accounts monthly. Process and manage commission schedules. Ensure payment to suppliers on time.  Fixed Assets Maintain the fixed assets register. Banking Perform daily bank reconciliations. Efficiently manage the company’s banking practices. Cashflow Preparation and Monitoring Additional Tasks Support all the company’s offices on accounting related matters as and when required by the Finance Manager. Perform any other duties as assigned.
