A fantastic opportunity for career growth within a dynamic company Qualifications/ Experience Required Matric B Com Accounting or similar Accounting degree/ qualification essential MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook experience - strong MS Excel skills essential SAP experience advantageous Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role Duties include: Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close and ensuring that the monthly packs, journals and recons have been prepared with the expected high standard of quality and accuracy Prepare journals emanating from the system accruals, ensuring that the coding is correct and review the accruals previously processed to avoid duplications Prepare and upload journals resulting from the branch as well as financial and business controller reviews Prepare monthly reconciliation of accounts with appropriate supportcomments for financial controller reviews Prepare the Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly and advise on any risks and/or opportunities and assess for any process improvements Upload data into financial reporting system and prepare comments for the Controllers Perform PL reviews Maintain Fixed and leased asset ledgers and recons, identifying areas for process improvement Complete and submit monthly reporting packs Ensure that the month end checklists are actioned ensuring the timely reporting of all monthly financial information, and update these where applicable Support budget and forecasting activities. Support the Controllers – Financial and Business Work with the credit department to ensure all IC Transactions are processed in accordance with the Group finance manual Good working knowledge of Tax, including VAT, WHT and income tax etc Good working knowledge of foreign currency translations and revaluations Work with the Compliance Department to ensure a clean and timely year end audit Analyze their duties to develop more efficient procedures resulting in a high level of accuracy, reliability & compliance Ad hoc duties and projects for senior management Attributes required Must be controls and process focused Must be able to work well under pressure and deliver on deadlines Good understanding of financial statements and reports Must have a valid and unendorsed driver’s license Must be a team player Must possess good time management skills Ability to work long hours of overtime over month end when necessary and must be able to adapt easily to deadlines Self-Starter who will use own initiative Liaise with AP, AR, CM and senior management Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to identify and solve problems Good working knowledge of Excel R30 000 - R40 000 - Monthly
