The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices, with a specific focus on the manufacturing sector within the clothing and textiles industry. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will aid in budgeting and forecasting, as well as in financial analysis, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of our operations. The Creditors Clerk plays a vital role in our finance department, responsible for managing and processing accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting and finance principles, with excellent attention to detail and a customer service orientation. This full-time position is located in Port Shepstone, Kwa-Zulu Natal, within the clothing and textiles manufacturing industry. The Creditors Clerk will contribute to the efficiency of our financial operations and support the overall financial health of the organization. Creditors Clerk Responsibilities Process and verify invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions in the accounting system. Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding payment queries and discrepancies. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analyses as needed. Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to accounts payable. Coordinate with internal departments to improve financial workflows and processes. Monitor company spending and help in managing cash flow effectively. Contribute to the maintenance of financial compliance and internal control measures. Requirements Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. High school diploma or equivalent (matric certificate) is essential. 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing sector. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting procedures, as well as tax laws and regulations. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. A high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive information. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage high volumes of transactions under pressure. Strong customer service orientation for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Accountant Responsibilities Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards. Manage the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure financial targets are met. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary tax documentation. Conduct internal audits and ensure adherence to financial policies and controls. Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Oversee accounts management including accounts payable and receivable. Lead a small team of accounting staff, providing mentorship and training as needed. Collaborate with other departments to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting (BCom Accounting) or equivalent. 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector. Professional accreditation from SAICA or SAIPA is preferred. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and tax compliance. Excellent analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
