Excellent opportunity at an established and reputable firm with branches in George and Kempton Park for an Accountant to join their ranks. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the required qualification and experience to join a modern and fast-growing accounting firm in order to build a career in the industry. The candidate will have a minimum of 3 years bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in an accounting firm environment, and completion or partial completion of SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles. A candidate with the intention of a long-term commitment would be viewed favourably. Solid experience working with Accounting Systems such as Xero, Sage, and CaseWare is required, as well as experience in Tax and compiling AFS an added benefit. Perform monthly bookkeeping up to trial balance, management accounts and payroll for clients. Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis. Perform high-level accounting duties. Preparing accounting work relating to compilations of annual financial statements. Preparation and Review of financial statements in CaseWare. Compilations of Annual Financial Statements on CaseWare. Perform high level tax compliance. Preparation and Review of management accounts. Writing up of more complex accounting records of clients. Review monthly bookkeeping / VAT clerks. Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis. Reconcile Debtors and Creditors on a monthly basis. Payroll and other monthly reviews Reviewing work done by supervised staff before partner review, where applicable. Ad hoc accounting and tax work Maintain excellent client relationships. Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or similar. Partial or completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles. AGA(SA) or PA(SA) an advantage. Experience with CaseWare, Xero, Pastel, Sage. R20,000 to R30,000 pm, depending on experience and qualifications.
