We are looking for an Accounting clerk with experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills necessary to support the accounting department's day-to-day operations. Position Overview: The Accounting Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the accounting department's day-to-day operations. This entry-level position involves assisting with various clerical and administrative tasks related to financial record-keeping and reporting. The incumbent will work under the supervision of senior accounting staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and procedures. Key Responsibilities: Capturing of Requisitions and Purchase orders on Sage Evolution. Accurately capturing of invoices on Sage Evolution Matching of invoices, purchase orders, delivery notes, and job cards. Preparation of Daily / Weekly and Monthly Supplier Reconciliations and Payments. General Accounting and Administration duties. Key Competencies: Attention to Detail: A high level of attention to detail is required with the ability to identify discrepancies and errors. Strong communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate financial information to stakeholders. Maintains open and transparent communication with senior staff. Time Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise, meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure. Team Player: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, with willingness to assist colleagues and share knowledge. Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to remain composed under pressure with the ability to adjust plans and priorities as needed to meet evolving business needs. Candidate should exhibit flexibility in work schedule and approach, willing to accommodate emergent tasks without compromising on quality of work product. Agility in Learning: Displays a proactive attitude towards learning and mastering new tasks, projects, and unfamiliar territories. Resourcefulness and Problem-Solving: Adapts quickly to new situations by leveraging available resources effectively and identifying alternative approaches to achieve desired outcomes. Exhibits strong problem-solving skills, systematically analysing issues and implementing practical solutions in a timely manner. Reporting Structure: Accounting Clerk: Reports to the Financial Accountant within the accounts department. Financial Accountant: Reports to Financial Manager Qualification / Requirements: Accounting Qualification essential Experience Required: 5 years' experience as Accounts Payable Clerk, Payables Administrator Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
