We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in actuarial science, risk management, and data analysis. This role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, from technical provisions reviews to client relationship management, all aimed at providing top-tier actuarial services across Africa. Technical Provisions Review: Conduct comprehensive reviews of technical provisions, including Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) reserves, Unearned Premium Reserves (UPR), and Additional Unexpired Risk Reserves (AURR). Perform stochastic risk adjustment calculations using R/Python. Capital Modelling: Review economic capital models and perform quantitative validation of the Solvency Assessment and Management (SAM) standard formula. Ensure robust capital adequacy through detailed analysis and modelling. Reinsurance Reviews: Conduct in-depth reinsurance reviews and stochastic optimisation, incorporating advanced geospatial modelling techniques to enhance risk assessment. Projection Models Development: Build sophisticated projection models for Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and business planning, providing valuable insights for strategic decision-making. Reporting and Analysis: Produce detailed reports, reviews, and analyses of results. Co-sign on all aspects of short-term actuarial services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. IFRS 17 Reporting: Assist clients across Africa in meeting their International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) 17 reporting requirements, providing expert guidance and support. Technical Advisory: Offer technical advice to General Insurance clients across Africa, leveraging your expertise to solve complex actuarial challenges. Project Management: Lead and manage projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Client Insights and Value Add: Ensure all reports and deliverables provide valuable insights and add significant value for clients, enhancing their operational and strategic decision-making. Departmental Support: Provide support to the head of the department, contributing to strategic initiatives and departmental growth. Market Studies and Research: Conduct market studies and research to stay abreast of industry trends and advancements. Apply findings to improve service offerings and client outcomes. Client Relationship Management: Maintain and improve relationships with clients, fostering long-term partnerships and ensuring client satisfaction. A degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Professional actuarial qualifications (e.g., ASA, FSA, FIA, or equivalent) are highly desirable. Proficiency in R and Python for risk adjustment calculations. Strong understanding of economic capital models and SAM standard formula. Experience in reinsurance reviews and geospatial modelling. Proven track record in developing ORSA and business plan projection models. Excellent reporting, analytical, and project management skills. Ability to provide technical advice and support to clients. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
