EE Actuary with 8yrs exp for Senior Mgt role, reports to the Head of Retail Protection: Pricing and Reinsurance. Pricing or Life valuations experience with sound Technical skills and people management expertise required Actuary(EE) with 8yrs for Pricing Manager – Sandton for leading Financial Services Grp Exciting opportunity for an Actuarial Manager interested in pricing and reinsurance of the Retail Protection product range. The key focus areas of the role will be to lead a team of talented and motivated professionals responsible for pricing and profit testing as well as reinsurance administration and management of the Retail Protection product range. The role will include a large element of management and overall responsibility for the output of the team. Will work closely with the Actuarial Managers and Senior Stakeholders. This is a Senior Management role reporting to the Head of Retail Protection, Pricing and Reinsurance. The incumbent must a qualified Actuary with Pricing and or Life valuations experience and People Management expertise to manage 3 direct reports. You must be technically sound with strong Stakeholder engagement as you will be required to provide Technical Guidance to the team and business Requirements, skills, qualifications and experience required: Qualified Actuary with at least 8 years of actuarial experience . Previous experience in Protection Product Development or Pricing. Experience in valuation and pricing of protection products would be a distinct advantage. Experience leading a team would be a distinct advantage. A passion for protection business. Business acumen and negotiation skills. Ability to successfully juggle several projects and priorities at once and deliver on time. Strong sense of ownership. A self-starter able to think on his/her feet. Ability to influence stakeholders to achieve delivery. Good interpersonal and communication skills Task Description Defining and executing the Pricing and Reinsurance Strategy for Retail Protection. Profit testing and obtaining pricing sign off in line with the internal product approval guidance. Provide strategic input into the implementation of new benefits, features, special offers and changes to rates. Reviewing premiums on existing business. Ownership of pricing models. Reinsurance management, which includes assessing and defining reinsurance structures, assisting management with reinsurance partner selection, liaising with reinsurance partners, liaising with other functional areas on reinsurance matters and contractual work relating to reinsurance. Implementation of pricing rates and structure onto IT systems. Implementation of reinsurance structures and processes onto IT systems.
