Our client in the insurance Industry is currently seeking a skilled Actuarial Pricing Specialist to join their team of professionals in their Centurion offices. The purpose of the role is to conduct experience analyses, set new pricing bases, maintain, and develop our pricing tools and general statistical modelling in the Group Insurance. Responsibilities: Monitor the ongoing appropriateness of group insurance pricing bases to ensure competitiveness and financial soundness Develop new insurance pricing bases for key products using relevant data, statistical techniques, and modeling software such as R Utilize software packages including Excel, SQL, and R for data management and interpretation Ensure business written adds value to new business and embedded value by pricing appropriately, monitoring experience, and updating assumptions and margins Develop and maintain appropriate system infrastructure to support pricing bases Apply the actuarial control cycle for all pricing-related work, including collecting and analyzing information, building effective models, implementing, monitoring, and refining bases as necessary Provide support to risk pricing analysts on developed tools and non-standard pricing requests Collaborate with the Product Support Team to assess feasibility and pricing impact of new products and enhancements Employ risk management techniques, with a focus on reinsurance utilization Assist with annual bulk review of the FundsAtWork risk book, including calculating theoretical risk rates and collaborating on implementation strategy Work closely with Corporate Actuarial to ensure alignment with reserving and profit recognition basis Ensure compliance with governance, legislation, and risk mitigation strategies Rethink and redesign business processes for sustained improvement in quality, cost, service, turnaround time, flexibility, and innovation Partner and collaborate with analytical teams across the organization for information exchange Foster a service culture, propose innovations, and encourage exceptional client service Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders Develop and maintain productive working relationships with peers and stakeholders Positively influence and participate in change initiatives Continuously develop expertise in professional, industry, and legislative knowledge Contribute to continuous innovation through development, sharing, and implementation of new ideas Take ownership for driving career development Requirements: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proactively solve business and financial modeling problems Ability to work accurately under pressure with good time management skills High attention to detail and quality orientation Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a team as well as independently Self-starter able to show initiative and look for ways to improve existing processes. Proficiency in VBA, R, SQL Actuarial specialist with exemptions or passes in the A100 and A200 series with at least 2 years of work experience with pricing of insurance benefits and exposure to experience analysis Benefits: Market related salary.
