Actuarial Specialist (Life Valuations) - - Johannesburg

Responsibilities:

Perform life insurance valuations and analyze policy liabilities
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including IFRS 17 standards
Support the implementation of IFRS 17 calculations and transition
Develop and maintain actuarial models for life valuations and financial reporting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights on life insurance products and profitability
Conduct data analysis and provide recommendations to enhance business decision-making
Keep abreast of industry developments and changes in actuarial standards

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
6+ completed actuarial exams

Job Experience and Skills Required:

3+ years of work experience in the life insurance industry, with a focus on life valuations
Experience in IFRS 17 calculations and transition is preferred
Proficiency in actuarial software such as Prophet is preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
