Purpose of the Position: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Agronomist (Irrigation Specialist) to join our dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing irrigation practices, ensuring efficient water usage and maximizing crop yields. Key Responsibilities: Implement and manage advanced irrigation scheduling technologies, utilizing data analysis and modeling to create customized irrigation plans that optimize water usage and crop health for various crops. Conduct thorough soil and crop assessments to determine optimal irrigation strategies that promote healthy plant growth, resource conservation, and address potential agronomic challenges. Provide expert agronomic advice to both internal and external stakeholders, including farmers, agricultural consultants, and industry partners, on topics related to irrigation management, soil health, and crop performance. Minimum Requirements: Master of Technology (M.Tech.) in Agronomy or a related field, or Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Agriculture with a specialization in Agronomy and Soil Science. Valid South African driver's license. Possession of a SACNASP (South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions) registration is highly advantageous. Minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience in agronomy, with a focus on irrigation management, preferably within an agricultural setting. Full professional proficiency in both English and Afrikaans, enabling seamless communication with diverse stakeholders Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and concise technical information to both technical and non- technical audiences.
