A 5 Star Game Lodge located in the North West Province. (Madikwe Game Reserve - Big 5)

Job Description

• Head of Maintenance at an 18 bed, award winning 5 star lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve (Big 5 area)
• Leading a team of five experienced maintenance workers
• Responsible for upkeeping the lodge infrastructure at highest level and complying with all rules regarding safety and sustainability
• Organizing the maintenance team, the daily duties to be done and to control them
• Willingness to help with daily work, even outside the maintenance departments
• Reports to the Lodge Manager
• Possibility to fill this position as a "couple position" if partner has suitable office / front of house skills
• Works according to a strict maintenance plan by using checklists.
• Proactively carries out routine work and recurring checks forward

Qualifications

Qualifications as an electrician and knowledge of how solar systems work are an advantage, but not essential.

Skills

Requirements: Experience on the job as a maintenance worker or as a Head of Maintenance in a similar environment and at a lodge at similar level. Excellent communications skills. Teamplayer who feels well being part of a team with flat hierarchies and direct communication channels. Works calmly and solution-oriented and remains calm as a leader in emergencies and crises.
