Airport Engineer - Department Head
The Airport Engineer Department Head will be responsible for overseeing all aviation-related projects, providing technical expertise to clients, and leading a team of aviation professionals. This role requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of aviation regulations and industry best practices, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Duties and Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage the Aviation Department, setting strategic goals and objectives aligned with the companys overall mission and vision
- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for aviation clients, understanding their needs, objectives, and constraints, and providing expert advice and solutions
- Project Oversight: Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of aviation projects, ensuring they adhere to client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in various areas of aviation planning and engineering, including airport master planning, airport feasibility studies, airspace analysis, airport infrastructure designs
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including architects, engineers, environmental consultants, and other stakeholders, to integrate aviation considerations into broader development projects
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, industry organizations, airport authorities, airlines, and other stakeholders in the aviation sector
- Industry Knowledge: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the aviation industry, and incorporate them into project planning and execution to ensure the company remains at the forefront of innovation
- Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and coach junior staff members, providing guidance on technical skills, project management, client engagement, and professional development
- Communication: Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, proposals, and other communications materials to clients, stakeholders, senior management, and project teams
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards in all aviation projects, and implement measures to continuously improve project delivery processes
Minimum Requirements- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation planning, airport engineering, or a related field
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Airport Planning, Aviation Management or a related field Masters degree preferred
- Professional registration with ECSA preferred
