ALUMINIUM PRODUCTION MANAGER - EAST LONDON - East London

We are assisting our client in the recruitment of an Production Manager in the Aluminium Factory must have experience as a production manager who will oversee the production and coordinate all activities to ensure enough resources on hand. Procuring factory production and taking responsibility for its maintenance and striving to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all production lines. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, resolving problems and reporting results. Decision and initiating action. Adapting and responding to change Ensure all staff are at their workstations and ready for work by 07h30. Ensure staff do not have bags in the factory and are to use the lockers provided. Monitor that staff are not on cell phones at any time during the day. Ensure staff report back timeously after tea and lunch and do not leave their stations before the relevant break times. Staff are to work until 16:30 daily and not to leave before the bell has rung to signal end of shift for the day. Bathroom time needs to be kept to a minimum by employees. Staff are to always follow health and safety rules. Please ensure the relevant PPE is worn when necessary. You have authority to consult with our HR Manager to request she issue warnings to staff who have transgressed under the Group disciplinary code, when deemed necessary. Our workshop area is a NO SMOKING AREA – please ensure staff are made aware. No unauthorised leaving of the premises by any employee. Please ensure that all offcuts from materials drawn for a job are taken back to the store once that job is completed. Ensure they are not left lying around in the production area. Make sure procedures of the store are followed. Any mistakes that are made during manufacturing need to be noted on the BOQ, if you need to draw material due to a cutting/manufacturing error note it down. All staff to wear uniforms provided to you. Make sure they wear the correct attire to work. Please ensure that you follow all safety procedures in the workplace, check all tools used by your staff regularly. Ensure all staff are at their workstations and ready for work by 07h30. Our company is proud of the product that we sell; please make sure you double check the goods before handing over to the next department to ensure they are acceptable. Workers/Supervisors will be dealt with seriously if they produce substandard product. Employees are to respect all Clients and fellow staff members and to ensure the Company is always shown in good light. Required Tasks Ensure that a safety check is done weekly on all machinery used in production. Ensure a weekly check is done on machinery and tools for damages, any damages to be reported immediately. Ensure all staff have the correct tools for production – weekly tool checks to be signed off by yourself. Ensure production of goods is carried out timeously and quality is to meet Company standards. The Company has a 7-day production turnaround rule which needs to be met. Ensure that production outputs are met. Continuously check quality on all goods and take corrective measures where necessary. Be accountable and update Management on progress of production. Sign off all production timesheets and handed in for capture, timeously. Ensure that all Company procedures are always followed. Assist with monthly stock takes. This will be done at month end. Monitor and improve efficiencies on the production line. Monitor staff performance/production and perform reviews on all staff. Daily production reports to be completed. Monitor scrap wastage and sign off daily on scrap marked for sale. Monthly toolbox talks to be done in each division. Any other reasonable instructions within the scope of work. QUALIFICATION Diploma/Bcom related to Management/ Production field. EXPERIENCE 3 - 5 years of experience in relevant field Proven experience as a production manager Organise workflow to meet specification and deadlines. Proficient in MS Office Apply Now
