Anglo American Plc recruits Shift Supervisor Job No.: 676152 Division: AAPLC Platinum (South Africa) Site: Twickenham Platinum Mines Department: Mining Work type: Full Time Permanent Location: Limpopo Job Level: C5 Role Description: The Shift Supervisor Mining has the Legal accountability with a 2.15.1 appointment in terms of the Minerals Act and Regulations and is responsible to ensure compliance to Legal requirements and Management specifics, and the completion of records pertaining to his/her area of responsibility, as stipulated by the regulations. Key responsibilities: The control of production operations within a designated area. Inspection of all production activities in his/her area of responsibilities and the recording of the findings of such inspections. The inspections of all machinery and equipment in his/her area of responsibilities and the recording of the findings of such inspections. The continuous evaluation and monitoring of work performances and the taking of adequate measures to ensure workers are competent to perform their duties. Co-ordination of logistics and the administration of resources within the designated area. To ensure all work outputs are quality and quantity driven. Responsible to ensure that rules/regulations and management specifics pertaining to daily tasks are complied with, and to deal with/report any breaching thereof. The completion of all reports. Evaluation of daily operations to ensure safety performance Conducting legal inspections. Recording of inspections and observations pertaining to Legal and Management specifics. Completion of administration work. Co-ordination of mining activities, logistical activities and resources through planning, scheduling and communications. Optimising production through the utilisation of resources, motivation and development of personnel. Legal, operational and standard compliance Completed production administration. Achievement of area planned production. Achievement of section planned production. Education: Grade 10 Valid Blasting Certificate. Completed Operation Shift Supervisor course Safety courses will be advantageous HR courses (employee relations/labour relations) completed will be advantageous Competencies: First Aid Certificate Three years experience as a stoping/development Miner Two years appointed as a Shift Supervisor will be advantageous (if not appointed must have acting experience as a Shift Supervisor) TM3 experience will be advantageous Mine Overseer’s Certificate of Competency will be advantageous Physical Requirements: Certificate of Fitness Additional Information: Anglo Platinum shall apply the Employment Equity principles as set out in Anglo Platinum’s Employment Equity Policy.
