A leading medical device company seeks to employ an Imaging Application Specialist to be based in Johannesburg. The successful candidate must be an industry expert in his/her particular area of specialization and has, in addition, a broad knowledge of his/her specialized industry. The role is responsible for “owning” the client engagement process, ensuring that company product range is demonstrated to client and the best solution/equipment are presented to the client. This is a senior position with the responsibility to both grow the company in the division and to manage all supporting resources to ensure the sales of the product. The Imaging Applications Specialist will be aligned with national strategy and be engaged directly by the sales team across the country as well as the product manager. Please note that this is an Imaging Application Specialist position and not an incentive driven/Sales vacancy Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Completed Matric. MUST have a completed Diploma in Ultrasound or Radiography. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar capacity. Previous experience in a similar position in the Medical device industry. South African Citizen with a valid driver's licence and own vehicle. Ultrasound/ Sonography background highly recommended with extensive equipment knowledge. Willing to work after hours and weekends to accommodate shift staff and problems that may arise. Previous Sales/ Applications experience would be an advantage. Ability to operate the equipment professionally and to train effectively. Characteristics: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Client oriented with the ability to build relationships with customers A high level of technical ability General business knowledge and results oriented Create credibility to ensure customer confidence Attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Dynamic, out-going and motivated Duties & Responsibilities: The primary role is to represent the company professionally to clients and prospects, consult with doctors/ decision makers and the sales team during client assessment, needs analysis and client meetings with a focus on promoting the equipment by demonstrating the product and its unique features and benefits. Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following: To ensure the relevant machines are introduced in front of the relevant audience through demonstrations and promoting the benefits of the machine. Creating and maintaining relationships by providing support, information and guidance as well as promoting the equipment to high level professionals. Developing an in-depth knowledge of the Ultrasound product range and services provided. Know the competition and how the company is positioned in order to best exploit their unique selling points Coaching, training and developing sales team to achieve their goals. This function includes but are not limited to support during trials, co-travelling with sales staff, after sale product training and follow up visits to customers. Demonstrating and training of clinical personnel, support to customers as well as technical staff on the working of the equipment. Attending meetings, conferences and exhibitions as required promoting Ultrasound products and services. General Administration associated with the position.
