Vacancy for Area Manager Retail : Western Cape Must have retail experience Job Purpose : To ensure the delivery of exceptional operational and commercial standards through out the stores in the area. To ensure compliance in all areas of operational activity and to drive sales and profitability through the performance and development of store managers, managing whiting agreed budgets cost and stock loss Only apply if you have extended experience, will to succeed, and enjoyment of retail Key Performance Areas (KPA's) To pro-actively contribute to the formulation and direction of the retail stategy and implment projects and trails for the area. To support the management of customer service activities and staff competence so as to optimise and sustain sales performance and customer satisfaction To effectively manage the profit and loss statement within the allocated budget, seeking ways to reduce expenditure not to the detriment of the business, to effect a profitable performance for the area. To manage salary and wage expenditure in line with area sales performance and affirmative action plans. To ensure that all stores adhere to compliance requirements in all areas of operational activity, company policies and procedures. To clearly and concisely communicate business and area objectives to managers so that they remain well informed of business activity and of their required contribution to targets. To achieve stock control targets in line with company guideliness to prevent financial loss by determining the stocklosses via stocktake in every branch every 4 months. To liaise with the buying and merchandising units regarding the supply in the area to maximise stock and sales potential. To actively manage merchandice on a weekly basis to ensure stores have enough, and the correct productto ensure the achievement of their sales budgets. To ensure that stores comply with all Health and Safety legislation as well as labour legislation. To ensure that all company property issued to him/her is well looked after and only for company purposes with the exception of private use authorized in writing by group operations manager. To identify under performing stores and develop a business plan to address and manage issues effectively. To achieve succesfull mystery shopping results through the development and training of managers. To collate and provide constructive feedback on visual merchandising standards to the business. To ensourage managers to seek and continously develop knowledge of competitor activity and local market conditions with the purpose of you making innovative recommendations to drive the business forward To effectively manage the performance and developemtn of store managers to drive the maximise the sales performance through the area. To plan for the succession in the area through identification of individuals with potential for developments. To identify, prioritise and persue store acquisition, relocation and disposal oppertunities in liasison with the group operations manager. To undertake any other reasonble duties as requested by the group operations manager To fullfill all retail related functions related to the area and company Critical Dimensions To achieve area sales target as directed by the group operations manager. To achieve stock loss targets as directed by the group operations manager To achieve all compliance requirements with regards to security and cash for area. To achieve/ over achieve on budget provit Ability to manage and develop a positive, compitent and productive management team. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to drive and motivate performance through effective coaching skills and hands on approach. Demonstrate and strong business acumen. Highly organised with ability to adapt quickly to stategic change . Ability to work in a team and fulfill the role of middle management whiting the company Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the company and command respect acress all levels. Holds a clean legal licence for a motor car and able to stay overnite as and when required To have Matric To have 5 years plus middle management experience and or Area manager experience Diploma in business managment a positve Contactable references Able to read to understand need experienced middle management and or Area manager experience Retail experience needed Competitive market related package Apply Now
