Area Manager - Water Treatment / Laundry Chemicals - - Johannesburg

Minimum requirements for the role:

A tertiary qualification in sciences or engineering or related qualification is preferred.
Previous experience having worked within the water treatment industry is essential for the role.
Previous experience having treated process or cooling water or boiler or effluent water or wastewater treatment sectors within the automotive, food and beverage and or mining or pulp and paper and or process industries is beneficial.
The successful candidate must be a strong team player with the ability to build and foster relationships.
Must be fast-paced, results and sales-driven with a strong sales force.
Must have good business acumen with good analytical and synthesis skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential.
Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Providing industrial water treatment solutions to a variety of different industries especially as it pertains to boilers, cooling towers, CIP cleaning, water purification, etc.
Managing and servicing existing clients as well as developing new business within the industry within the automotive, food and beverage or mining, pulp and paper or process industries.
Treating process, cooling water, boiler, effluent water, and or wastewater treatment sectors.
Increasing penetration in the market at existing customers as well as introducing new applications for existing products.
Driving KPIs to achieve budgets set out by senior management.
Working closely with senior management with regard to account activity, competitor activity, customer needs and product acceptability.
Training and managing new sales technologists and on-site technicians at various customer sites.
Presenting business plans and innovative technologies to senior management with regard to products and customer requirements.
Providing technical troubleshooting at customer sites with regard to various water treatment solutions.
Implementing and supporting the companys quality improvement processes at customers.
Managing forecasted sales, budget and profit margins.
Driving and overseeing safety management, auditing and risk assessments.
Compiling proposal costing and achieving planned average profit margins.
Managing customer prices and margins by negotiating price increases.
