Job Specification Summary To monitor and maintain equipment and perform the planned maintenance repairs and upgrade to all equipment within the OSD plant including services (e.g Dispensary, Granulation Milling compression coating packaging compressed air steam chilled water HVAC and purified water etc) to ensure the continuous availability and functioning of this equipment to a high through demanding pharmaceutical production plant. Financial Effective and efficient utilization of resources to keep processes cost effective Accurately asses repair and maintenance to service thereby contributing towards the engineering department operating within budget constraints Customer Service All queries are followed up and resolved in the shortest possible timeframe within policy framework A professional attitude is displayed when responding to a customers needs Methods for improving customer services are proposed, developed and continuously updated Internal and external customers are constantly updated as to the progress of their queries Continuous Improvement Processes Preventative Maintenance Co-ordinate action and perform Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks in accordance with engineering specifications for all services Introduce, update and improve the PPM system by applying knowledge gained from breakdowns Breakdown Maintenance Undertake breakdown maintenance rapidly and skillfully to ensure minimal machinery downtime Ensure Engineering GMP and Safety standards are adhered to, maintained and improved continuously Safety and Health Standards Hazardous situations are reported or resolved immediately Safety and health equipment is available and ready for use Incidents/accidents are prevented by effective operating of equipment and by following health and safety procedures Health and safety procedures are adhered to as laid down by legislation Training Information is gathered about development needs Training and development is negotiated with your engineer Learning solution are identified, proposed and implemented according to ongoing personal and team development plans Best practice is encouraged to ensure expertise. Up skilling and multitasking are co-ordinated in line with staff development Minimum Qualifications Matric/grade 12 Mechanical/Electrical N3/Instruments A higher theoretical qualification at a recognized institution will be advantage Trade certificate in accordance with standards recognized by the National Training board in terms of section 13 (12) of the Manpower Training Act. 1981 Minimum Experience 3 years as an artisan within a pharmaceutical/food or personal care F.M.C.G industry with excellent knowledge of packaging and engineering practices Must be able to do fault find and repairs to First world Programmable Logic Controlled electro mechanical packaging and process machinery Must be familiar with low voltage machine instrument controllers Must be familiar with planned preventative maintenance practices in a strict GMP environment Have good communication skills and functions well within a team
