An established, but rapidly expanding transport and logistics business based in Bellville, Cape Town is seeking four (4) highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their team asap. The Assistant Accountant will play a vital role in supporting various accounting functions, including accounts payable. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. Accounts Payable: Approving vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments. Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain vendor relationships. Assist with the preparation of accounts payable aging reports and analysis. Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate recording of transactions. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations. Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and assist in implementing new policies and procedures as needed. Certificate or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Salary: R 16000 and R19 000 basic salary, based in skills and experience.
