Reference: DUR003048-SN-1 Our client, a well-established Manufacturing and Retail Group seeks your accounting experience to enhance the Finance department's overall efficiency and ensure that the company thoroughly understands its financial status, which will enable informed decision-making and pave the way for long-term success. Purpose of the Role: Contribute to maintaining organisation and clarity in the company's financial matters. Prepare financial reports and conduct regular analyses. Minimum Job Requirements: Degree in Accounting or Finance. CIMA, a strong advantage. Minimum 2 years demonstrated expertise as an Assistant Accountant. Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software (e.g. Sage 300, Pastel). Competencies: Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices. Proficient with numbers & figures and an analytical acumen. Keen eye for detail. Excellent organisational abilities. Display a high level of meticulousness. Responsibilities: Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded. Update accounts receivable and issue invoices. Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations. Assist in compiling balance sheets, income statements and other financial reports. Assist with reviewing expenses, payroll records, and other expenses against the budget. Oversee stock counts and report on stock variances. Update financial data in databases. Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports. Prepare VAT recons & submissions. Assist the team in preparing monthly/yearly closings. Participate in various accounting projects as needed. R260 000.00 per annum (cost to company) - negotiable
