Our client, an international professional services firm is looking for an Assistant Actuarial Manager, to join their General Insurance team in providing stellar advice to Mauritian based clients. You can be based in South Africa or Mauritius. Qualifications required: Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Sciences or similar/relevant Majority of the CT exams completed Skills and Experience required: 3 to 5 years’ experience in General Insurance Pricing, capital modelling or valuations experience IFRS 17 experience is advantageous Experience with ORSA’s, valuations and solvency calculations is advantageous Strong actuarial technical skills Strong communication skills Deadline driven Job Description: Calculation and review of technical provisions including IBNR, UPR, AURR, etc. Capital Modelling Product pricing and design, including working with GLMs Reinsurance reviews and optimisation Asset liability modelling Expense analyses and profitability assessments Drafting reports and communications Reporting feedback on progress Actuarial assistance and support on IFR17 projects Performing market studies and research Maintain and improve client relationships Provide technical advice to General Insurance clients Assist in preparation for Quality Affairs Committee and attend QAC meetings; take minutes and prepare meeting minutes. Continuously evaluate areas of responsibility and recommend improvements to the processes concentrating on efficiency and quality of the product and/or systems. Ensure Key Performance Indicators measure progress against Quality objectives. Support and facilitate change control processes. This includes partnership with change control owners to assist them in the development and execution of change controls or completion of tasks.
