An Assistant Consultant is required to complement the Cape Town Environmental team. The candidate will primarily provide support on environmental projects including environmental authorisation procedures (Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Water Licensing, and Waste Licensing etc.), stakeholder engagement / public participation, and compliance auditing. The candidate will also be required to support the other specialist teams within WSP including air quality, water services, contaminated land and geotechnical services as required. Key Responsibilities: Delivery of Basic Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Management Plans and Compliance Auditing projects Field Work will form a significant part of the role Involvement in local projects primarily, and international projects as required To work both independently and in a team Good working knowledge of the South African environmental legislation Accountability for own tasks and deliverables to required deadlines Health and Safety: Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behaviour consistent with the company's health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm Embracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times Qualifications An Honours or higher degree in a relevant environmental discipline.
