As the Assistant Lodge Manager, you will be expected to "live-in" and manage this safari lodge.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Reports to the Lodge Management Team. Assist in the management and oversight across all areas of managing the lodge (Staffing, Food and Beverage and Housekeeping) Ideally someone with a sound F&B background that can take charge of menu planning (vegetarian, halaal, kosher etc.), stock control, order management etc. Oversee the duties and performance of the onsite staff. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Matric, with a relevant certificate in travel, tourism or hospitality is an advantage. Good interpersonal skills must be able to communicate with staff from the local community as well as affluent international travellers. Your ability to speak a foreign language such as German or French will be highly advantageous. Knowledge of Excel (advantageous). MS Office including Outlook. A Valid Driver's License. South African Citizen with a clear criminal and credit history. Previous Lodge Supervision / Hospitality Management experience (essential). Leadership and organisational skills are essential. Common sense and an above-average eye for detail. The ability to speak foreign languages is also highly advantageous, but not an essential requirement. Good health and sober habits. Trustworthy, competent and dependable with a good track record. ADDITIONAL NOTES: Upmarket modern onsite accommodation is available, and the role is suited to a singleton Leave cycle: You will be required to work 21/7, on for 21 days and off for 7.
