Description Position: Assistant Maintenance Manager Location: Kruger National Park The main role of the Assistant Maintenance Manager is to support the Maintenance Manager in all aspects of maintenance on the property and must ensure that all equipment is fully operational, and that lodges and staff villages are maintained to the highest standard of excellence. Key Responsibilities: Correct use, care and maintenance of equipment to ensure the highest level of productivity and safety. Effective communication with the Maintenance Manager and TSM department teams in terms of all maintenance issues, to ensure guests' needs are met and operation runs smoothly. Monitoring of lodge facilities to a fully functional level of operation and to standards required by region/reserve audits. Responsible for stocktakes and housekeeping on maintenance workshops, equipment and spares monthly. Provide and plan for staff regarding management of staff leave and training opportunities. Maintain a good relationship with suppliers and management of invoicing. Conduct regular checks and walkabouts in relevant areas. Ensuring diesel storage, electrical generating equipment, boreholes and sewage are kept to the standard required by the determined property standards. Write relevant reports. Skills & Experience: Extensive operational knowledge in the fields of: Water Reticulation, Boreholes, Sewage Systems, Refrigeration, Electrical reticulation. Understanding of high & low Voltage systems. Formal education in the areas of air conditioning, plumbing, carpentry, construction, and electrics is preferable. Knowledge of NOSA safety standards, rules, and regulations. Knowledge of gas geysers, gas stoves, and multi braais. Basic first aid knowledge. General computer knowledge (MS Office). Developmental approach to staff.
