This role requires an Audit Manager to manage all aspects of audit engagements which include planning, project management, delegating, liaising with client and reporting to Audit Manager II and in some instances Senior Audit Managers. The Audit Manager I would have gained sufficient skills and knowledge in their 3rd year of training to achieve this. Low risk audit engagements will be supervised and reviewed by the Audit Partner, while high risk files are supervised and reviewed by Senior Audit Managers. The expectation is that the audit file is complete with cleared review notes, no outstanding queries, all sections thoroughly reviewed. The Audit Manager will plan, initiate, execute, manage and deliver an audit engagement timeously and in compliance with audit standards with minimal errors i.e superficial review notes received from the Audit Partner. Responsibilities: Attend to audits of clients of the firm. Effectively and efficiently perform own audit procedures in compliance with auditing standards to deliver quality work. Engage with the Audit Partner or Senior Manager and the team for opening meetings prior to the commencement of an audit. Ensure that time budgets have been set by the Audit Partner and communicated to the team. Responsible for adherence to time budgets. Responsible for the allocation of sections and set reasonable timelines for sections according to level of experience and complexity. Ensure that review notes are clear and provide sufficient detail to ensure proper understanding of errors or non-compliance to audit standards. Set timelines for the clearing of review notes to ensure that there is sufficient time for a second review. Responsible for upskilling, disciplining and mentoring junior members of staff and escalating any issues of concern to HR or Partner. Provide regular status updates to Partners or Senior Managers ensuring that deadlines are met. Liaise with Audit Partner on complex procedures that are unfamiliar ensuring that work produced is of high quality. Complete staff evaluations for all team members, escalating concerns to the Audit Partner Requirements BCom in Accounting or related field CA(SA) IFRS experience Have good written and verbal communication skills Be willing to go the extra mile and take initiative Be passionate about becoming a Chartered Accountant Have strong analytical ability Have the ability to work under pressure Accurate and thorough Able to deal effectively with individuals at all levels within the firm.
