FGW Generators in Cape Town is looking to employ an Auto Electrician. Reporting: This position reports to the Service Manager. Your duties will include installing and repairing electrical wiring, diagnosing problems with electrical systems, repairing damaged electrical parts, and maintaining electrical equipment for generators. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of modern electrical systems, have a good eye for detail, and be able to problem-solve complex electrical problems. Ideally able to install, troubleshoot and repair any electrical system in a generator. Job Objectives: Installing new wiring systems. Installing and troubleshooting alarm systems. Gathering information from customers about issues with their electrical system. Diagnosing electrical issues and proposing a course of action. Providing customers with estimated time and cost for repairs. Repairing and replacing faulty wiring or electrical systems. Servicing of electrical parts. Servicing and repairing electrical systems on generators. Maintaining a clean working environment. Completing job reports. Providing customers with excellent service:Ensuring that work is carried out to FGW generators standard and as arranged / agreed with customers.Provide customer feedback.Relay customer queries to the Service management team. To be financially profitable:Conduct services and call outs in an efficient and cost-effective manner.Minimise wastage.Adhere to stock control. Qualification & Job Experience: Code 8 Drivers licence. Matric and auto electrical qualification certificate Proven work experience as an auto electrician. Advanced knowledge of modern electrical systems. Knowledge of controllers (DSE/Insight/Woodward/Power Wizard) preferable. Ability to work in confined spaces. Complex problem-solving skills. Ability to operate electrical diagnostic equipment. Excellent communication skills. Key Competencies:Excellent technical ability and diagnostic skills.Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.Able to work under pressure.Attention to detail and demonstrates a ‘right first time’ approach.Excellent Customer skills.
