Avionics Inspector: General Aviation Operations - Midrand

General, Sport and Recreational Aviation Aircraft Inspections (Part 43, Part 44, Part 91, Part 94, Part 105) Conduct routine planned and ad-hoc oversight, surveillance, and inspections, such as the inspection of aircraft and continued airworthiness at an airfield apron, site or base and carry out oversight or checks considered necessary at prescribed intervals. Conduct such inspections or oversight in accordance with an established work programme and applicable standard procedures and instructions. Advise the operator, in writing, of any significant deficiency, requesting a proposal for remedial action. Conduct follow-up on inspection reports to ensure that appropriate action has been taken in a timely manner. Submit reports on each inspection or investigation in the manner prescribed, and complete and process on the applicable inspection forms. Conduct investigations and prepare reports as required on possible unsafe or non -compliance of the basic aviation law or related safety operating regulations and rules. Continuously review the operator's pertinent documentation (e.g., operations, policies, operating instructions) and information to staff and system of amendments to determine whether they are accurate and made available in a timely manner to persons requiring their use. Keep appropriate CAA inspectorate staff informed on all aspects of current operations in general; and Perform duties delegated and incidental to the SACAA requirements. Communication Ensure appropriate communication within SACAA and with external clients. Conduct and project a satisfactory and positive image of the SACAA to all stakeholders. Provide industry feedback to the Authority. Promote public relations and aviation safety and standards by proposing improvements in airworthiness and maintenance requirements. Customer Interface Project a satisfactory image of the SACAA to all customers in dealing promptly with telephonic, mailed, or personal interactions Legislation Administration Review and approval of MEL’s, AMP/AMS, RVSM, Special Approvals. Conduct compliance oversight, surveillance, and investigations Provide administrative support with information data and records. Keep abreast of and remain proficient in specialist skills, knowledge human factors, regulations, and new developments of technology. Process applications and documents and amendments. General Administrative Functions All relevant tasks and responsibilities as specified by the SACAA policies, procedures. Report with recommendation and outcomes of all oversight, surveillance and inspections. Proactively research, develop and propose the specific standards to be applied in the area of airworthiness and maintenance of aircraft. Ensure reports are accurate, detailed and submitted on time as required by department and section managers Minimum Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric) and hold or has held Appropriate Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence, or an equivalent and related trade in the aviation technical and maintenance environment e.g. Avionic Ideal National Diploma equivalent to NQF level 6 Minimum Experience: 3 Years experience in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering 3 Years exposure in Client Services Closing Date: 05 April 2024 All SACAA appointments are subject to S98 of the Civil Aviation Act, 13 of 2009 and all successful candidates will be subjected to security vetting.
