PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To safely load and unload men, materials and equipment into and from shaft conveyances and to give the necessary signals MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 certificate (NQF Level 4) is essential Valid Onsetter certificate is essential 2- 3 Year working experience as a cage helper is essential Exposure as relieving Onsetter will be advantageous Valid medical certificate, or must be medically fit to obtain such a certificate COMPETENCIES: Knowledge with regard to shaft signals, safe movement of men, material and equipment in the bank area and shaft area. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Transport explosives and accessories by means of rolling stock. Man, shaft entrances. Give and receive signals to/from hoist drivers for starting and stopping conveyances. Coordinate schedules for the transport of mineral, material and equipment. Load and remove rolling stock into and from shaft conveyances. Load and unload persons into and from shaft conveyances. Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area. IMPORTANT: Short listed candidates may be subjected to a psychometric assessment.
