Reference: CPT003314-Andre-1 SD Recruitment's Hospitality Division, serving a client in Goodwood, is seeking a dynamic Bartender to join their team for a contract position dedicated to servicing events. We are looking for a skilled Bartender who possesses exceptional communication skills and exudes professionalism and energy. This role involves preparing both classic cocktails and innovative beverages, providing outstanding service to our clientele. Responsibilities include greeting customers, understanding their preferences, making recommendations, taking orders, and ensuring timely delivery of drinks and food. You'll also engage in upselling, creating new recipes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring cleanliness in the work area. To excel in this role, you should present a tidy appearance and possess a warm, engaging demeanor. Efficiency, attentiveness, knowledgeability, and a personable nature are key attributes. Bartender Responsibilities: Greeting and interacting with customers to discern beverage preferences, making suggestions, and taking orders. Developing drink menus and informing customers about new offerings and specials. Mixing and serving beverages, garnishing drinks, and ensuring quality presentation. Verifying customer age for alcohol purchases in compliance with legal requirements. Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders to maintain adequate stock. Adhering to food safety standards and regulations. Handling transactions accurately, including cash, credit, and debit payments, and maintaining balanced registers. Maintaining cleanliness in the bar and dining areas by clearing tables, disposing of waste, and washing utensils and equipment. Innovating and creating new cocktail recipes. Bartender Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education, certifications, or relevant experience may be preferred. Minimum legal age to serve alcohol as per South African regulations. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Professional appearance and a positive, engaging demeanor. Basic proficiency in math and computer skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of drink mixing techniques and equipment.
