BIM/Revit Technician - South Africa

We believe great companies are built from exceptional people and amazing clients. Because of our growth, we are seeking an experienced BIM/Revit Technician in Johannesburg. This position is primarily responsible for performing BIM modeling and drafting tasks using Revit and AutoCAD software for the preparation of construction drawings for new construction and building renovation projects, BIM models, and detailing of technical information for vertical building projects across all markets. Essential Functions: Prepares drawings for new construction and building renovation projects from sketches or other architectural and/or engineering data using Woolpert standards. Develops plan drawings for specific architecture and engineering applications (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, communications, and structural engineering). Develops profiles, cross-sections, and elevations. Organizes and maintains drawings, cloud-based models, and records for duration of each project. Works closely with project managers and other technicians to complete project tasks. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must be experienced in Revit and AutoCAD, BIM modeling, and drafting software. Experience with building architecture and engineering systems related to buildings and vertical construction is preferred. Must be mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position. Must have average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships. Must be able to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Must be able to read, write and interpret reports, business correspondence and procedural documentation. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations (fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions) and apply to practical situations. Must have an AA/AS or two (2) years related experience. Resulting Physical Qualifications: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment. Must be able to occasionally reach, bend and/or climb. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
