The Projects team are searching for a Safety Advisor to join our business located in Richards Bay, KZN for a period of 12 months. The Safety Advisor is required to ensure a zero LTIFR is maintained by providing guidance and advice in safety related matters and implementing and maintaining the Project safety system. The successful incumbent will need to ensure all construction activities are compliant to the Project and Mondi requirements. Their relevance is underpinned by the specialised knowledge and skills they can use to work on the processes, systems and people practices, as subject matter experts. Qualifications & Expertise Nebosh International Certificate IRCA Root Cause Analysis Legal Liability NOSA / SAMTRAC Tertiary education in Safety Management Minimum NQF level 6 Job Experience 8 – 15 years’ experience in Construction Safety as a practitioner or Safety Advisor on major projects. Boiler erection/installation with ancillaries experience is a must Previous experience on other major Power projects Risk Assessment compilation Contractor Safety Audits Contractor Environmental Audits Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, Act 85 of 1993 and Regulations Key Performance Areas: Implementing and maintaining occupational safety programmes and initiatives such as behavioural based safety principles Provide advice and guidance on all HSEQ issues to management. Monitoring process and systems conditions and trends to improve HSEQ performance and compliance to the OHSAS 18001 and ISO 45001 Ensure accurate records, reporting and administration of divisional HSEQ. Engage in liaison with stakeholders such as suppliers, management, production department on all HSEQ issues and investigations. This appointment will be made in line with our Employment Equity Plan.
