Duties - Technical - Make design changes as per request from Foreman
- Carry out special technical tasks as directed by the Foreman or Engineer
- Support Maintenance Staff with technical solutions and advise
- Structural Boiler Making
- Pipe Development
- Plant Maintenance
- Building and installation of shoots and guards
- Installation of pipe work
Control - Motivate manufacturing staff to achieve high quality, cost effective and timeous manufacture of components
- Ensure the correct allocation of labour hours to jobs using Time Sheets
- Control, co-ordinate and maintain materials to ensure availability at the commencement of work
- Ensure control of the receipt and dispatch of goods
- Quality is the Job Holders responsibility. Product must conform to strict standards when manufactured.
- Ensure inspection activities are carried out where necessary to maintain a high-quality product.
- Welding: Arc - Mild steel, Stainless Steel, Mic, Tic
- Stainless Steel development
- Use hard tools
- Use power tools
Planning - Continually improve on manufacturing methods by drawing from any source of advancing methodology available
Good Manufacturing Practice- Housekeeping and Safety
- Safe Working Practice
- Prevent people from being injured
- Prevent plant and equipment from being damaged
Other - Take cognizance of priority changes
- Products are to be manufactured within the agreed estimate time. Actual versus estimated variances are to be discussed with concerned parties.
- Assist staff in improving their performance and notify the Foreman of any problems
- Ensure safe ways of working and the use of protective gear
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Trade tested Boilermaker
- 5 years post trade experience in FMCG
