Ernest Lowe is a member of Hudaco group that specialises in the supply, repair and refurbishment of a range of leading brand pneumatics and hydraulic products and component from large to tiny. We are looking for a well presented and motivated individual to join our team as a SC Logistics and imports. Manage ELCO procurement strictly in line with our BBBEE policy. Perform ad-hoc buying duties when necessary. Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries and other problems. Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists. Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers. Report on Supplier performance (Supplier evaluations – Local). Costing of all Imported shipments. Arranging Freight for all Imported goods. Continuously following up on arrival of Imported goods. Dealing with Freight forwarding agents, ensuring that shipments arrive timeously and that goods are correctly cleared by customs. Follow up on VOC done by Customs. Ensure that correct Tarif Headings have been used to ensure that ELCO is not paying duties on stock that should be duty free. Liaise with internal (procurement, Stores and Finance) and external (logistic service providers Do order control from system to establish amounts to ensure that FEC (foreign exchange Control) is taken out by Hudaco. Propose shipping methods, routes, for orders to be shipped. Do shipment status reports with Procurement to ensure shipment dates are correct. Receive Pre- Alert on Shipments, verify and issue shipping instructions. Receive Shipping Documentation and compare invoices to orders to verify accuracy, confirm with the Procurement Department. Open manual and system file on shipment, record shipment data, such as order price, weight, charges, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes. Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damage, shortages, or non-conformance to specifications. Contact Forwarder/Clearing Agents to plan or issue instructions for shipping and delivery of Cargo. Receive packing lists from Stores capture clearing agent charges, get signoff from Procurement/ stores and financial managers. Capture Suppliers invoices and allocate GRN to ensure invoices are processed for payment. Capture on shipping register for reporting purposes. Figures for Management Weekly / Bimonthly and Monthly for reports to be compiled. Weekly Report of order commitments spreadsheet to be updated and sent to Accounts for Forward Cover. Process Foreign Suppliers Upfront payments. Capture payments on system and print copy of payment report for reporting purposes, stamp file as processed and complete FEC information on file for Auditing purposes. Always ensure the highest levels of customer service and attend to client's queries. Ensure that your own work area is always kept neat and tidy. Receive shipment by using Landed Cost Tracking and issue GRN to stores. Perform other duties as required. Maintain shipping files. Qualifications and Experience: Matric certificate. Diploma in Purchasing and Supply (CIPS preferable). Qualification in Logistics. A minimum of 2years' experience in a similar role. At least 2 years' experience in Systems implementation either leading or participating. Must be attuned to Engineering industry trends. Syspro would be advantageous. Knowledge of materials essential. Specific Job Skills: Must be a dynamic, highly motivated individual. Self-starter/finisher. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be well organised and analytical - Understanding of complex information and requirements. Good prioritization skills and flexible enough to adapt plans.
