Key Performance Areas:
- Registering receipted bonded cargo and removal of bonded cargo
- Generating weekly client reports for required acquittals
- Completing customs bill of entries and submission of customs excise accounts
- Verifying bill of entries for customs purposes and acting as SACD representative during Customs inspections
- Managing detained cargo and supervising/developing Bond/Custom staff
- Liaising with clients regarding workload and planning
- Ensuring adherence to SARS regulations and procedures
- Scanning and matching cargo records in the internal system
- Obtaining Customs release for cleared cargo and filing documentation
- Maintaining lists and reports related to bonded receipts and exceptions
- Assisting with internal/external audits and reporting to management
- Coordinating receiving and packing processes according to SOPs
- Staying updated with customs regulations and incorporating changes into operations
- Investigating stock queries, practicing good housekeeping, and ensuring health and safety protocols are followed
- Assisting with warehouse projects as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric qualification required; post-matric qualification advantageous
- Supervisory skills essential
- Previous experience in Bond Store processes and documentation/administration required
- Familiarity with customs regulations and procedures essential
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills required
- Attention to detail and accuracy essential
- A responsible and accountable attitude required
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently
- Availability for weekend work and overtime required
