Position Overview:
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience in handling various financial tasks, including VAT compliance, payroll processing, and managing both debtors and creditors.
Responsibilities:
Financial Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
- Record and categorize day-to-day financial transactions.
- VAT Compliance:
- Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on changes in VAT laws and ensure compliance.
Payroll Processing:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processes, including calculations, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and related statutory contributions
Debtors and Creditors Management:
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding balances.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements regularly and address discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor cash flow and report on any irregularities or concerns.
- Financial Reporting:
- Generate regular financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Provide insightful analysis to aid management decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure financial goals alignment.
Tax Compliance:
- Work closely with external accountants to prepare financial data for tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, with a focus on VAT, payroll, debtors, and creditors.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
