THE OPPORTUNITY

The Creamery team makes and sells handmade, natural ice cream, crafted from ingredients that are sustainably sourced from local family farms. We are ethical and environmentally conscious, and love delighting our customers with innovative and creative flavours and desserts.

Ideal candidates will be excited to use their passion for accuracy to assist in managing our day-to-day accounting requirements. Theyll have a head for numbers, but not without a splash of creativity and an intrigue for artisanal food and desserts. Loyalty and integrity mould the way they approach their work, and solid ethics will never allow them to just take the easy way out.

THE POSITION
Youre not one to limit yourself, and we dont want to stand in your way. As a starting point, the role would include the following:

Impact Areas

  • Update, reconcile and maintain financial records
  • Review and assist with internal financial controls, like stock take, budgeting and costing calculations and records
  • Payroll administration
  • Supplier Management: Loading payments, reconciling statements, handling queries
  • Assisting with cash controls, including weekly cash counts, assigning the necessary float to outlets, and double checking sales calculations
  • Assist our team with financial modeling, budget projections and costing for new and ongoing projects

Additional Details
40-45 hours/week
Reporting to the company directors and company accountants

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Our ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate the following:

Skills and Experience

  • Matric certificate
  • Minimum of two years bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with Xero accounting package
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Experience working autonomously, and in a supervisory capacity
