A well-established retail outlet in Johannesburg is looking for a bookkeeper to join their team. The successful applicant would be responsible for completing financial data entries and maintaining debtors and creditors. Monthly processing on Pastel Evolution including but not limited to: Maintaining Debtors Maintaining Creditors Remittance for payment Process up and until balance sheet Credit returns from customers Returns to suppliers Customer invoicing Filing REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Education and qualification Matric is essential plus tertiary qualification English; high level of competency – speak, read and write Work experience and industry exposure 5 years experience in bookkeeping, with strong financial acumen and understanding Experience in a similar position is a distinct advantage Knowledge of export processes an advantage Specific Knowledge Knowledge of accounting principles and VAT Woking knowledge of Pastel Evolution Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel intermediate level) and Pastel is essential Strong Communication skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with customers and colleagues in a professional and effective manner Able to respond to queries and deal with customers in a calm and rational manner Excellent Administration Skills A highly organised and efficient individual who can multitask and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines Systematic, consistent and structured approach to work Deadline-driven with excellent attention to detail A flexible, self-driven individual who is able to work autonomously while maintaining open channels of communication with a team Negotiable / Market related
