A 50/50 partnership between the government of Botswana and a South African Company, Chlor-Alkali Holdings (Pty) Ltd, Botash conducts all operational activities from production through to marketing and sales of soda ash and salt across the Southern African region. Job Title: Head of Projects Office Location: Sowa Town, Central, Botswana Reference : HOPO2021 Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Market Related Job Summary: For the role of Head of Projects Office, Botash seeks a strong Projects leader with excellent business and financial acumen, together with proven project management experience and strategic thinking capabilities, to steer the business and grow shareholder value. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Projects will be responsible for: • Establishing and managing the project office, developing and implementing stay in business and strategic business projects and plans; • Providing strategic, technical, operational, financial, and managerial leadership for successful implementation of project activities; • Providing overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, and tools used for effective project delivery; • Providing strategic oversight, advise and direction for projects implementation including all activities, outputs, and outcomes related to projects management and administration, reporting, budget development and monitoring, financial transactions, execution of project plans, project performance; • Customer service and quality; • Compliance and governance; people management and ensuring highest standards of Safety, Health and Environment. Requirements: • You will have all round leadership skills, exceptional communication and negotiating skills to build relationships with key stakeholders and influence decision making at the highest level. • Experience in managing large-scale project portfolios will be a distinct advantage along with proven track-record and demonstrable leadership success. • You will have a degree in any relevant field [Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical] together with membership of a recognized professional institution. • You will have at least 15 years’ post qualification experience of which 5 years would have been gained in at executive or senior management level in a project management role within a heavy industry environment. • A hands-on orientation in all aspects of project management from scoping to post completion audit is mandatory. • Your knowledge of the global industrial chemicals business, commercial awareness and customer focus will position you for this role.
