The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) was established through the Communications Regulatory Authority Act (CRA Act) of 2012. BOCRA is responsible for the regulation of the communications sector in Botswana, comprising Telecommunications, Internet, Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs), Radio Communications, Commercial Broadcasting, Postal Services, and related matters. BOCRA invites highly talented, motivated, hardworking, skilful CIRT Responders citizens to apply for the following position: Job Title: SENIOR OFFICE ASSISTANT -COMPUTER INCIDENT RESPONSE TEAM (CIRT) RESPONDERS Location: Gaborone, South East, Botswana Reference : 1 of 2022 Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Market Related Job Summary: 1.MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB The main duties of this job include cybersecurity incident response, threat intelligence analysis, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, security audits, cybersecurity risk assessments, digital forensics, intrusion detection and prevention. 2.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: •Monitoring and detection •Incident handling and analysis •Vulnerability management •Threat intelligence analysis •Awareness building 3.RESPONSIBILITIES: •Provides first-line response and initial management of any new or developing Information Technology (IT) security related issues. •Disseminates the collected information, selecting the recipients, and identifying the correct channels to be used according to the incident management procedures. •Analyses cyber incidents to identify correlation with previous cyber incidents (e.g. attack signatures, specific vulnerabilities being exploited). •Identifies the vector of attack, the vulnerabilities exploited, and the characteristics of the targeted or victimized systems, networks and applications • Identifies the size and scope of the cyber incident and determining its potential damages • Documents the characteristics of the cyber incident in order to identify lessons learned and continuously update the knowledge base of the CIRT • Prepares, updates, implements, and conducts awareness and training programs.
